ONSTAGE in Bedford presents one of the most exciting theatrical events of the 2017 season, the regional premiere of the musical Disaster! by Seth Rudetsky Jack Plotnick, based on a concept by Rudetsky and Drew Geraci, with additional material by Geraci.
The musical will run on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 from June 30-July 23, 2017, at the Trinity Arts Theater in the historic Bedford Boys Ranch Park, 2819 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford, Texas. Tickets are $16.99 - 24.99, available at www.onstageinbedford.com. Preview night is Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 8 pm with tickets available at the box office that night on a first come, first served basis for just $5.00.

"I think audiences are going to be blown away by the talent in this production and I'm super proud that ONSTAGE gets to host the regional premiere of this 2016 Broadway hit" said ONSTAGE Artistic Director Michael B. Winters.

The musical mixes up earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and the unforgettable songs of the '70s in Broadway's side-splitting homage to classic disaster films. Set in 1979, the action unfolds as New York's hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. Also attending is a faded disco star, a sexy nightclub singer with her eleven-year-old twins, a disaster expert, a feminist reporter, an older couple with a secret, a pair of young guys who are looking for ladies, an untrustworthy businessman and a nun with a gambling addiction. What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters, such as earthquakes, tidal waves and infernos. As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they've lost... or at least escape the killer rats.

"As someone who grew up in the 1970's and the films that inspired the show, I can say that anyone of any generation will find Disaster! outrageously funny with its over-the-top characters and hilarious dialogue combined with super hit songs, like 'Knock on Wood,' 'Hooked on a Feeling,' 'Sky High,' 'I Am Woman' and 'Hot Stuff'," added Winters.

Helmed by Lon Barerra, the cast includes many names familiar to the DFW theater-going crowd: Jonathan Garcia (Chad), Trey West (Scott), Jacob Rivera-Sanchez (Ted), Mike Hathaway (Tony), Sarah Dickerson (Marianne), Michelle Phillips (Sister Mary), Sherry Etzel (Shirley), Doug Fowler (Maury), Jason Solis (Levora), Rebecca Paige (Jackie), and Grayson Oliver (Ben and Lisa). The ensemble is comprised of Carlos Brumfield, Jordan Justice, Andrew Friedrich, Nicole Neely, Nancy Lopez, Courtney Mitchell, and Logan Coley Broker.

The production team includes Music Director Kristin Spires, Choreographers Shannon Walsh and ReEtta Roever, Stage Manager Nicole Lugar, Set Designer Kevin Brown, Master Carpenter Jim Scroggins, Lighting Designer Kyle Harris, Costume Designer Janelle Lutz, Wig Designer Marcus Lopez, Sound Designer Mark Howard, Props Designer Connie Mauree Hay, Puppet Designer Gabrielle Grafrath, and Winters.
