MainStage Irving-Las Colinas, in association with the ICT MainStage Guild, will celebrate the beginning of the 2016-17 Razzle Dazzle season with a special, one-night-only dinner cabaret, LAUGHING MATTERS, starring Dallas/Fort Worth theatre favorite B.J. Cleveland. The cabaret will take place onstage at the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theatre (3333 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75062) on Friday, October 21. Doors and bar open at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and preshow music by Thomas Lightfoot and his band. The cabaret performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Regular tickets are $100 each and $850 for a reserved table of ten and go on sale to the public October 1. Exclusive, discounted pre-sale tickets are available to MainStage Irving-Las Colinas season subscribers. To purchase tickets and/or reserve a table, call the Irving Arts Center Box Office at 972-252-2787 or go online to www.irvingtheatre.org.

LAUGHING MATTERS will be accompanied by a full-catered three-course dinner buffet. The show premiered earlier this year at Denise Lee Onstage's cabaret series, with performances at both the Women's Museum at Fair Park and Two Corks and a Bottle at the Quadrangle. Cleveland recounts stories and anecdotes from his time growing up as a child television star to becoming one of the most recognizable and prolific stage personalities in DFW theatre, told by way of showtunes, American standards and even a polka. Pam Holcomb-Mclain will serve as accompanist.

B.J. Cleveland, who will direct MainStage Irving-Las Colinas's first show of the season, CHICAGO, is a multi-award-winning actor and director with more than 400 shows to his credit as actor, director and choreographer. Most recently, he was recognized by the DFW Theater Critics Forum for his critically acclaimed performance in the regional premiere of "The Nance," and he has been named Best Actor numerous times by D magazine, the Dallas Observer, the Star-Telegram and FW Weekly for his starring roles throughout the Metroplex.

Cleveland is well known in the area as the top-rated television host of the Disney Afternoon for more than 10 years. He also hosted the Discovery Channel series "Route 66" and appeared on the NBC series "The Facts of Life." Cleveland has served as president of the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County, artistic director of Theatre Arlington and resident actor/director for Casa Manana. His honors include Lifetime Achievement awards from the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County and the DFW Theater Critics as well as being named among the Distinguished Alumni of Tarrant County College. He is a teaching artist with the nationally renowned Dallas Children's Theater and an associate artist with Uptown Players, Kids Who Care and 1:30 Productions.
