Encore Players Auditions Held at KVPAC

Encore Players auditions will be held at KVPAC for Love Letters by A.R. Gurney and directed by Heather Villano.
Show Synopsis:
Love Letters is the story of Andrew Ladd III and Melissa Gardner's complex relationship as told through the reading of a lifetime of correspondance between the two-from childhood birthday invitations and thank you notes to pledges of adolescent infatuation, through the trials and tribulations of marriage, professional aspirations, parenthood, addiction, and ultimately to their love affair. The play, as presented by Gurney, requires no set, no line memorization, and is essentially a work of readers theatre.

Seeking 1 Male and 1 Female actor for the following roles:
Andrew Ladd, III (Andy) - age 40s-60s. A professional politician (he becomes a senator). A product of boarding schools and strong sense of moral and ethical responsibility as instilled in him from an early age by his parents and society. Andy is a rule follower, an over-achiever, who always does the right thing.
Melissa Gardner - age 40s-60s. Rebellious of her privledged New England sociallite upbringing, Melissa has been cutting class, smoking behind the school and breaking rules in an exhuberant and reckless manner her entire life. Fun loving-thrill seeking to the point of self-destructive, Melissa, who is an artist, spends life trying to find herself.
Auditions will be starting at 6:00pm on Wednesday, Dec 28 and Thursday, Dec 29 (as needed).
Audition location is Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC), Building 1- Lobby, 2501 South Mason Road #290, Katy, TX 77450.
Call backs are by invitation only on Thursday, Dec 29.
Please prepare a short 1-2 minute contemporary monologue (also be prepared to read selections from the script as determine by the director during your audition time slot).
Bring headshot/ resume if you have one.
Participants must be age 17 or older.

Encore Players is an all-volunteer adult community theater organization that taps into the acting, vocal, dance and stagecraft talents of adults within the Katy-area.
