Casa Mañana Theatre presents A Year with Frog and Toad as the opening production of their 2016 - 2017 Children's Theatre season. Tickets are on sale now.

A Broadway hit, A Year with Frog and Toad is perfect for the whole family! Based on the treasured children's books by Arnold Lobel, this whimsical musical follows two great friends - the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad - through the year. Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, eat cookies, swim in funny bathing suits, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. Part vaudeville, part make-believe and all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad tells the story of a friendship that endures, weathering all seasons.

The musical A Year with Frog and Toad, adapted by brothers Robert (music) and Willie Reale (books and lyrics), was commissioned by Lobel's daughter, Adrianne Lobel. A Year with Frog and Toad cast includes: Mathieu Whitman as "Frog", Joseph Pyfferoen as "Toad", David J. Wiens as "Bird"/"Snail"/" Lizard"/"Father Frog"/ "Mole 1", Samantha Whitbeck as "Lady Bird"/"Turtle"/" Mother Frog"/"Squirrel"/"Mole", and Kathryn Porterfield as "Lady Bird"/"Mouse"/"Squirrel"/"Young Frog"/"Mole."

This self-produced production will also kick off a four month National Tour in 2017. The tour will visit over 22 states and 42 cities from coast to coast. The professional traveling company will perform for school matinee students, as well as public audiences.

The production is directed and choreographed by Noah Putterman, who last staged Children of Eden at

Casa Mañana. Additional creative team members include Jeff Lankov as music director, Samuel Rushen as lighting designer, Colt Frank as scenic designer, Kyle McCord as Sound Designer, Tammy Spencer as costume designer, and Catherine Petty-Rogers as hair, wig and make-up designer.
