As if owning and teaching at Amy's Studio of Performing Arts doesn't keep cheerful Amy Cave's schedule packed with enough drama (pun intended), the talented dancer is known around town as a constant actress, appearing onstage and backstage of productions with The Firehouse Theatre, Resolute Theatre Project, and L.I.P. Service Productions. Then, in her spare time, Amy's been known to work as a musical theatre choreographer and a director for children's musicals. Somehow, Amy's now got another hat to squeeze on her tiny frame.

Amy has just announced plans to create a youth arts program, KidsWorks Festival, which will provide opportunities for youth directors, choreographers, and musical directors to be paired with professional adult mentors to produce a festival of three adapted works. Sixth graders Sara Pool and Jack Costello, and fourth grader Ruby Chabot will direct, design, and choreograph. Sixth grader Andrew Cave will serve as a choreography assistant and dance captain for the team. The directors selected their own shows and have developed an overall vision for the works, each with a 45-75 minute running time.

The works will be presented in a rotating schedule July 13th through July 16th, with two works each day. Also included in the festival will be two original works written by two of the directors. The original works will be presented as staged readings and include a talk back with the director after the show. The festival will take place in The Farmers Branch area and will be staffed entirely by local kids with the support of Resolute Theatre Project. All performances are free of charge and open to the public. Auditions for all productions will be held Saturday, April 1st at Amy's Studio of Performing Arts.

For details, Ms. Cave can be contacted through the Resolute Theatre Company's website: www.resolutetheatreproject.com
