Impro Theatre to Present TENNESSEE WILLIAMS UNSCRIPTED at SCR, 2/27-3/2

The award-winning Impro Theatre presents its critically acclaimed show Tennessee Williams UnScripted as part of South Coast Repertory's Studio SCR series, for five performances from February 27 to March 2. Directed by Impro's Associate Artistic Director Brian Lohmann, each performance of Tennessee Williams UnScripted presents a new, completely improvised play in the style of Tennessee Williams. The show has received Critic's Picks from the LA Times and LA Weekly.

In Tennessee Williams UnScripted, passionate, smoldering secrets lurk beneath the surface of genteel society - and explode in a climax of accusation, confession and consequence. Inspired by Tennessee Williams' masterful storytelling and delicious language, Impro Theatre starts with a single audience suggestion and builds improvised, full-length plays that are hilarious, yet tragic as a Southern belle's broken heart. Impro Theatre's performances are unique; there are no repeated characters and no set story structure, and each play is written in real time - while simultaneously being performed - by the actors. This show contains adult content and situations.

Impro Theatre creates completely improvised, full-length plays in the styles of the world's greatest playwrights, authors and composers, including Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Tennessee Williams, Stephen Sondheim and more. They have received multiple Critics' Picks in the Los Angeles Times, Back Stage West and L.A. Weekly, and have performed sold-out shows all over the world. Regionally, they have performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival main stage, The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Falcon Theatre, The Carrie Hamilton Theatre at the Pasadena Playhouse, and many more.

Tennessee Williams UnScripted runs for five performances between February 27 to March 2 in the Nicholas Studio at South Coast Repertory (SCR), located at 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Performances are Thurs, Feb 27 at 7pm; Fri, Feb 28 at 8pm, Sat, March 1 at 3pm and 8pm; and Sun, March 2 at 3pm. Tickets are $25 general admission and $15 for students. (On Feb 27, all tickets are $15.)
