Famous for his many starring roles including his defining performance along side Robert De Niro in the 1988 classic Midnight Run, Charles Grodin is the recipient of Emmy and Golden Globe Awards alike. A resident of Wilton, CT and a stellar member of the entertainment industry for more than 50 years, Grodin has a lot of wisdom and humor to share about his career as a celebrated actor, comedian, author and talk show host. He is also a natural storyteller who will share his journey through Hollywood on Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. The Connecticut Press Club is giving Charles Grodin the Mark Twain award for humor. Ironically, Charles Grodin was born twenty five years to the day after Mark Twain passed away. Other film credits include Rosemary's Baby, Clifford, Beethoven, The Heartbreak Kid, Catch-22, Heaven Can Wait, Taking Care of Business, Seems Like Old Times, The Great Muppet Caper, The Woman in Red, The Lonely Guy, Ishtar The Couch Trip and more. (4/3/2014) - On the heels of the 75th Anniversary tribute to The Wizard of Oz at the Academy Awards, The Ridgefield Playhouse will follow suit by presenting the famed story for children of all ages on Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. In a musical adaptation of the classic 'The Wizard of Oz', the story will come to life for the young-at-heart. The songs featured in this beloved tale include 'Soup's On', 'Somewhere', 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' and 'It's So Easy to be a Witch'. Doktor Kaboom will prove that science can be fun when the stage production Doktor Kaboom!, which cleverly blends the wonders of science with theatre, comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. This event is ideal for grades 2 - 8.

(4/3/2014) - Due to popular demand, Puppets in Education (P.i.E.) at Stamford's Palace Theatre has added a second show at 1:00pm. The 3:00 show is now sold out. The Monkey Boys Productions (Go, Diego, Go Live!, SeaWorld Productions) offer the rare chance for kids to get hands-on training to create their very own puppet show. Kids will learn how to make a show both with professionally made puppets and with their own beloved stuffed animals. Space is very limited because of the direct interaction with the puppeteers so don't wait until Sunday to buy! Puppets in Education is a part of the highly successful Playtime at The Palace series which offers unique programming for children of all ages on Sunday afternoons.

(3/31/2014) - The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE has selected two original book musicals to be developed in an intensive lab setting in New Haven, June 3-15. Afterland, with music and lyrics by Benjamin Velez and book and lyrics by Kathryn Hathaway, will be directed by Mark Brokaw; and Clouds are Pillows for the Moon, with music by Tidtaya Sinutoke and book and lyrics by Ty Defoe, will be directed by Leigh Silverman. The Institute culminates with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as a part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 14 and 15.

Pangrazio, who has an extensive theatrical background, has recently been involved in productions with The Bijou Theatre, Darien Arts Center, New Canaan Powerhouse Players, Westport Community Theatre, Curtain Call, Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Brien McMahon High School, and Bridgeport Theatre Company. She recently directed 'Dial M for Murder' at The Bijou Theatre and a production of 'Dracula' for Bridgeport Theatre Company. She acts as Director of the Kids' Theatre Program at Darien Arts Center, where she teaches theatre to students, ages 3 to 18.

(3/31/2014) - Few popular novels have been as powerful about a subject as Harper Lee's 1960 novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. As a film with an A-list star and as a play that is produced from time to time (but not nearly as often as it should be, in this critic's opinion), it's always a solid hit. Thankfully, the creative team at the Bridgeport Theatre Company did not depend on this.

(3/30/2014) - The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is honored to announce that its annual spring program will feature "Dawn," a work created by the talented young composer Paul Frucht in tribute to slain Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung. Performances will take place at the Jewish Community Center in Sherman on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 27 at 3:00 PM at the Brookfield Library. Also on the program will be works for flute, harp, clarinet, violin and cello by J.S. Bach, Handel, Muczynski, Wourinen and David Brandenburg, along with selections from the American Songbook.
