Yale School of Drama to Present HEDDA GABLER, 2/1-7

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA presents HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen, translated by Paul Walsh, directed by Katherine McGerr, February 1-7 at the University Theatre (222 York Street).

HEDDA GABLER features scenic design by AdrIan Martinez Frausto, costume design by Soule Golden, lighting design by Caitlin Smith Rapoport, sound design by Steven Brush, dramaturgy by Jennifer Schmidt, and stage management by Shannon L. Gaughf.

The cast includes Mamoudou Athie (Eilert Lövborg), Ashton Heyl (Hedda Gabler), Tiffany Mack (Thea Elvsted), Elia Monte-Brown (Juliane Tesman), Daniel Reece (Jørgen Tesman), Ariana Venturi (Berte), and Mitchel Winter (Commissioner Brack).

"I want for once in my life to have power over another's destiny..."

Hedda Gabler has it all: a husband on the verge of success, the house of her dreams, a baby on the way, and the adoration of everyone she meets. So what's her problem? Why does her "thirst for life" drive her to intervene when her ex-lover, pursued by another woman, returns as her husband's professional rival? With keen intelligence and fierce will, Hedda deftly redirects the destinies of those around her-but can she keep ahold of her own?

Tickets, $10-$25, are available online at drama.yale.edu, by phone at (203) 432-1234, and in person at the Box Office (1120 Chapel Street at York Street).
