Westport Country Playhouse will host a "2015 Season Kick-off Block Party," on Saturday, April 11, 4 to 7 p.m., offering a fun, party-like atmosphere with food trucks, games and activities, prizes, special ticket offers, and a look at the Playhouse's "backstage experience." Admission is free and open to the public.

"Come party with the Playhouse," said Elizabeth Marks Juviler, Playhouse director of corporate relations and special events. "To celebrate the start of our 2015 Season, we're throwing open the doors to the theater and offering lots of fun things to do, including self-guided tours and a scavenger hunt."

Local food trucks, including Bodega, Christophe's Crepes, LobsterCRAFT, and Skinny Pines Pizza, will be on site with their specialties available for purchase. Beaver Beer will provide a free tasting of their brews, and Shake Shack will offer complimentary custard. Music will be performed by the band David and Chenot.

Box office promotions will include 25% off all single tickets, subscriptions, and flex passes to the 2015 season's five productions. The discounts will be available one-day-only, Saturday, April 11, in-person purchases. Ticket discounts are not valid on previously purchased tickets and are subject to availability.

Westport Country Playhouse's upcoming 2015 season: "The Liar," by David Ives, May 5 - 23, an update of Pierre Corneille's classic comedy, weaves an increasingly intricate web of lies that leads to hilarious romantic misadventures, directed by Penny Metropulos; "And a Nightingale Sang" by C. P. Taylor, June 9 - 27, paints a gently funny and moving portrait of a working-class family in Northern England as the world rushes toward the brink of war in 1939, directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director; the world premiere of A. R. Gurney's "Love and Money," pointedly explores the trials of class, family, legacy, and race, July 21 - August 8, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director; Alan Ayckbourn's "Bedroom Farce," August 25 - September 13, offers a delightful comedy confection about the messiness of adult relationships, directed by John Tillinger; and Arthur Miller's "Broken Glass," October 6 - 24, celebrates the playwright's 100th birthday with his powerful drama about New York Jews suffering from afar as they read accounts of atrocities in Nazi Germany, directed by Mark Lamos.
