Westport Community Theatre celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the CBS radio dramatization of H. G Wells' novel with an "old-time radio recreation" staged reading...

On the night of October 30, 1938, millions of listeners tuned into a CBS radio dramatization of H.G. Wells' novel The War of the Worlds by Orson Welles and The Mercury Theatre on the Air... and many of them came to believe that Earth was indeed under attack by "the vanguard of an invading army from planet Mars."

Join us this evening, October 30, 2013 at 8:00 PM when Westport Community Theatre's ETC staged reading series invites you to step back in time as we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of "the night America trembled" with a live "old-time radio recreation" of history's most famous radio broadcast, complete with music, sound effects, 1930s period costumes and equipment, and a cast of some of Fairfield County's most talented actors including many WCT favorites!

If anyone is looking for Fairfield County's finest actors, you'll find them right here! "The War of the Worlds" is presented by the "All In Your Mind Players" under the direction of Richard Mancini - and featuring veteran WCT performer Tom Petrone as Orson Welles.
