Veanne Cox & Laurel Harris Set for Playhouse on Park's Musical Theatre Preparatory Program

Registration for the Young Actor Musical Theater Preparatory Program at Playhouse on Park is now open! Running from July 11-July 22, each day is jam packed with classes and rehearsals. Broadway artists Veanne Cox and Laurel Harris will be visiting the program to lead students in master classes.

Veanne Cox, among her many extensive credits, is currently performing in An American In Paris on Broadway. Veanne is a Drama Desk Award winner and a Tony Award nominee. She has performed on Broadway in A Free Man of Color, Caroline or Change, The Dinner Party, La Cage aux Folles, Smile, and Company. Her TV and Film credits include Smash, Seinfeld, Cinderella, Erin Brockovich, and You've Got Mail. Veanne has also starred in many Off-Broadway and Regional productions.

Laurel Harris most recently played Elphaba on the National Tour of Wicked for three years. She has also performed on Broadway in Evita starring Ricky Martin, where she was the understudy for the role of Evita. She has been in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in addition to numerous Regional credits.

In addition to these master classes, students have daily instruction from core faculty members, which include Kyle Reynolds and Penny Brandt. Students will have opportunities to develop and perform their own pieces for the rest of the group, and will all be featured as singers, actors, and dancers in the final showcase.

Veanne Cox and Laurel Harris are also scheduled to teach a Musical Theater Master Class for students age 16 through adult. Visitwww.playhouseonpark.org for more information!

Each class meets at the Playhouse from 9:00 am-3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The fee is $700. Students may arrive as early as 8:30 am, and must be picked up by 4:00 pm.
