TheaterWorks presents ANNAPURNA, October 3-November 9 as their 2014-2014 season opener.

ANNAPURNA by award-winning playwright Sharr White, is a funny and surprising exploration of love and loss. After twenty years apart, Emma tracks down her ex-husband, cowboy poet Ulysses to a trailer park in the wilds of Colorado. In a grungy trailer, he is working on his magnum opus - hooked up to an oxygen tank - cooking in the buff. Their reunion, charged by pain and compassion is both healing and humorous and a final reckoning that neither of them saw coming. ANNAPURNA is a breathtaking story about the longevity of love from the award-winning author of last season's critically acclaimed THE OTHER PLACE.

Director Rob Ruggiero is thrilled to welcome Debra Jo Rupp (Emma) and Vasili Bogazianos (Ulysses) to Hartford. TheaterWorks' audiences adored Debra Jo as Dr. Ruth Westheimer in last season's run away hit, BECOMING DR. RUTH. Audiences will also know her as the beloved and quirky Kitty Forman on THAT '70s SHOW. Vasili Bogazianos, a veteran of TV, stage and film makes his TheaterWorks debut. Audiences will know him from a variety of roles but remember him fondly as Benny Sago from ALL MY CHILDREN.

Rob said, "I couldn't be more excited to open our 2014-2015 season with this play. Sharr is a friend of the theater and his writing is so truthful and beautifully lyrical. He has an amazing capacity to find humor in the most difficult situations. Debra Jo is going to delight our audiences in unexpected ways and Vasili's cowboy poet is sure to charm Hartford. They are both tremendous talents."

The production design team includes: Evan Adamson (Scenic Designer), Amy Clark (Costume Designer), John Lasiter (Lighting Designer) and Mike Miceli (Sound Designer). C. Nikki Mills is Production Manager and Kate J. Cudworth is Production Stage Manager.
