Reimagined Version of Lerner & Loewe's CAMELOT Begins October 4 at Westport Country Playhouse

A freshly inventive and intimate take on the classic Lerner and Loewe musical "Camelot" will be staged by Westport Country Playhouse,October 4 - 30, featuring Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard as King Arthur, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.

From the legends of the noble Knights of the Round Table, "Camelot" tells of the romantic triangle involving King Arthur, his Queen Guenevere, and her lover Sir Lancelot.

With book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, based on T. H. White's novel "The Once and Future King," the book is adapted by David Lee, with new orchestrations by Steve Orich. Choreography is by Connor Gallagher; musical direction of the eight-piece orchestra is by Wayne Barker. The original production was directed and staged by Moss Hart.

The cast includes Patrick Andrews as Mordred (WCP's "Red"; regional theater's "Red," "The Iceman Cometh," "American Buffalo," "West Side Story," "Cabaret"; TV's "Chicago Code," "Chicago Fire"); Britney Coleman as Guenevere (WCP's "Sing for Your Shakespeare," "Into the Woods," Script in Hand playreading of "Flyin' West"; First National Tour of "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical"; regional theater's "Camelot");Michael De Souza as Squire Dap/Young Page (Off-Broadway's "Once Upon a Mattress"; NYC theater's "Boys Who Tricked Me," "Corpus"; regional theater's "A Little Princess," "Lysistrata Jones"); and Mike Evariste as Dinadan (Broadway's "Amazing Grace," "Hair," "South Pacific," "LES MISERABLES"; tours of "The Book of Mormon," "Hair," "South Pacific," "Rent," "Fame").

The design team includes Michael Yeargan, scenic design; Wade Laboissonniere, costume design; Robert Wierzel, lighting design; and Domonic Sack, sound design.

"Camelot" performance schedule is Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday at 2 and 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m.and Sunday at 3 p.m. Special series feature Taste of Tuesday, LGBT Night OUT, Opening Night, Sunday Symposium, Open Captions,Thursday TalkBack, Together at the Table Family Dinner, Playhouse Happy Hour, and Backstage Pass.
