Pantochino Productions Inc. will open its new holiday musical, "GLITZ! The Little Miss Christmas Pageant Musical" tonight, December 7th for eight performances at the Milford Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Milford, Connecticut.

Featured in the show are the outrageous pageant costumes by designer Jimmy Johansmeyer. His creations for the over-the-top 'glitz' dress sequence features hundreds of crystals, bangles, sequins and yards of detail trim which adorn the traditional pageant cupcake skirts and costumes. The five finalists costumes are inspired by the iconography of the holiday season. "I'm anxious to see the girls in their full glitz make-up, wigs and hair pieces," said Johansmeyer. In addition to the finale look, the designer has also created costumes for the talent competition as well as the eye-popping, comical looks for the pageant Moms.

"Glitz" performed a sneak preview of the show last week on WTNH's "Connecticut Style" which is broadcast throughout the state.

The original holiday musical features book and lyrics by Bert Bernardi and music by Justin Rugg. It is a wildly funny spoof of child glitz pageants unexpectedly mashed together with A Christmas Carol. Swirling in delicious controversy, the pageant's host, Shayde Shams is at the center of tinsels, tiaras, little girls with big hair and their outspoken mothers. With a touch of Dickens, this modern tale becomes an instant holiday classic.

Now in it's second season, Pantochino Productions Inc. consistently delivers completely original musical theatre to family audiences in the Greater New Haven area.

"Glitz" will be performed tonight, December 7 at 7:30pm, Saturday, December 8 at 2 & 5:30pm, Sunday, December 9 at 2pm, Friday, December 14 at 7:30pm, Sunday, December 16 at 2pm and Saturday, December 22 at 2 & 5:30pm. Milford Center for the Arts is located at 40 Railroad Avenue, on the northbound side of the Milford train station. Ticket at $16 and available online at www.pantochino.com.
