Dancers will be accompanied by an advanced chamber music trio, Fibonacci Trio, comprised of Northwest Catholic High School senior Kate Jessen on clarinet, South Windsor High School sophomore Gabe Galley on viola, and Glastonbury High School senior Karlee Cummings on piano. In addition to DeNies’s modern piece, the evening will include a classical ballet performance staged by HCD Dance Chair Carol Roderick, a ballet premiere choreographed by Ballet Master Susannah Marchese, a musical theatre jazz and tap piece choreographed by Dance Faculty/Assistant Director of Dance Administration Melissa Chasse, and a modern piece choreographed by Hartt Professor of Dance Stephen Pier. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot in Broadway THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT
The Vagabond Theatre Company
3/17-3/26/2017
PRE-ORDER ONLINE @ vagbondbpt.org & SAVE $5 ON ADMISSION The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is a touching and thought-provoking dark comedy that takes a critical look at the nature of forgiveness. The action is set in Purgatory, which has evolved over the centuries to function as a Courtroom over which Judge Frank Littleton presides. In a shocking move, an ambitious Defense Attorney, Fabiana Aziz Cunningham, has filed an appeal on behalf of one of Purgatory's most infamous residents, Judas Iscariot. She calls historical and biblical figures as witnesses in her request for mercy on behalf of the catatonic Judas, to show his role was not one of betrayal but fulfillment of prophecy, and as such he should move on to Paradise. The Court has little reason to believe her, or remain impartial. At its heart, this show is a powerful exploration of the source and meaning of forgiveness. Does it come from others entirely, or from within, or is it a combination of both? Must we forgive ourselves before others can forgive us, vice versa, or is it only our own forgiveness that sets us free? Beyond this, the play looks at betrayal and forgiveness in everyday life. How we can punish and condemn ourselves, or forgive and celebrate. How each and every one of us has our own ‘heavens’, ‘hells’ or ‘purgatories’ that we can throw ourselves into. In the end we are our own judges, juries and – in some cases – executioners. This incredibly talented cast features: Lynnette Victoria as Fabiana Aziz Cunningham Juan Ayala as Yusef El Fayoumy John R Smith Jnr. as Judas Iscariot Eric James Dino as Satan John T Liszewski as Judge Littleton & Caiaphas Maggie Pangrazio as The Bailiff? & Simon the Zealot Giovanna Olcese as Saint Monica, Sister Glenna, Loretta, & Soldier 2 Alynne Miller as Gloria, Mary Magdalene, Saint Peter, Matthias of Galilee, & Soldier 3 Ainsley Andrade as Pilate, Saint Matthew, & Uncle Pino Justine Wieisnger as Mother Teresa, Saint Thomas, Sigmund Freud, Henrietta Iscariot, & Soldier 1 ?and Patrick Duffy as Butch Honeywell Directed by - Mat Young Produced by - Tanya Feduik Smith & John R Smith Jnr

Met Opera ENCORE in HD: Mozart's Idomeneo in Broadway MET OPERA ENCORE IN HD: MOZART'S IDOMENEO
The Ridgefield Playhouse
3/28-3/28/2017
Mozart’s first operatic masterpiece returns to the Met in the classic Jean-Pierre Ponnelle production, conducted by Music Director Emeritus James Levine. The superb ensemble includes Matthew Polenzani as the king torn by a rash vow; mezzo-soprano Alice Coote in the trouser role of his noble son Idamante; soprano Nadine Sierra as Ilia; and soprano Elza van den Heever as the volatile Elettra, who loves Idamante to the bounds of madness. When King Idomeneo is lost at sea in the aftermath of the Trojan war, he makes an impassioned plea to Neptune to save him, and in return he promises to sacrifice the first living soul he sees on his rescue. But it’s an opera, and that means the first person he sees is his son Idamante. Torn between paternal love and responsibility to the vengeful god, he seeks to find a way out of his bargain…with predictably disatrious results!
