Jorgensen and SUBOG bring two well-known comedians to the Jorgensen stage for UConn Family Weekend on Saturday, October 3 at 7 pm. Mike Birbiglia leads off with his strangely insightful, incredibly funny observations on life. A self-described "Olive Garden Italian-American," the genial Birbiglia is a consummate storyteller who honestly, often poignantly, relates his own awkward life adventures.

In addition to his critically-acclaimed CDs and Comedy Central specials, Birbiglia has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, This American Life, The View, and The Late Show with David Letterman. He has also just completed a long run of his hugely successful, one-man, off-Broadway show Sleepwalk With Me. Produced by Nathan Lane, the show was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Circle Critics Awards and was rated the number one Off-Broadway Show in the New York Times readers' poll. Monstersandcritics.com says his "smart, sweet, edgy" humor resonates with audiences everywhere.

Actress and comedienne Caroline Rhea moved seamlessly from a standup comedy club to her TV debut in the series Pride and Joy, later hosting her own syndicated daytime talk show and appearing in the reality series The Biggest Loser. Besides her recurring roles on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Hollywood Squares and the animated series Phineas and Ferb, she has also appeared on MTV's Half-Hour Comedy Hour, Comic Strip Live, The Drew Carey Show, and Comic Relief 8 and on the big screen in Christmas with the Kranks, Man on the Moon and The Perfect Man.

Caroline Rhea is witty, vivacious and very smart. She's also incredibly fast on her feet, so her shows are always full of surprises. Her humor is honest and often self-deprecating, but her bubbly personality and spontaneous goofiness cast a fresh new light on life's complications - from cookies to casual sex.

Enjoy an evening of non-stop smiles, snickers and snorts in a show that may contain adult content at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, located at 2132 Hillside Road on the UConn campus in Storrs. Regular tickets are $30, $28 and $26; UConn students and siblings $20, $18 and $16; seniors $28, $26 and $24. For tickets and information, call the Box Office at 860.486.4226, Monday through Friday, 11 am-5 pm, or order online at jorgensen.uconn.edu. Convenient free parking is available across the street in the North Garage.
