Acclaimed actors Jeff McCarthy, Jay O. Sanders and Harris Yulin will join Vanessa Redgrave in a one night only reading based on Philippe Sands' book Torture Team, adapted and directed by Long Wharf Theatre Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein.

This special event takes place on Sunday, January 16 on Stage II at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75.

McCarthy is known to Long Wharf Theatre audiences for his turn in The Price during the 2007-08 season. He has appeared on Broadway in The Pirate Queen, Urinetown, Side Show, Chicago, and Beauty and the Beast, in addition to numerous television and film appearances.

Sanders played George W. Bush in David Hare's Stuff Happens at The Public Theater, a role he will be reprising in the reading. His Broadway credits include Pygmalion, Saint Joan, The Caine Mutiny Court Martial and Loose Ends. He has appeared in the films Revolutionary Road, The Green Lantern and Glory, among many others.

Yulin has acted and directed extensively at Long Wharf Theatre and was seen on Broadway in Hedda Gabler, The Price, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Visit, A Lesson from Aloes and Watch on the Rhine. His lengthy film resume includes Scarface, Training Day, Rush Hour 2 and Clear and Present Danger.

An All the President's Men for the 21st century, we follow international lawyer Philippe Sands on a journalistic adventure, tracking down Bush administration officials to find the truth about Guantanamo Bay - did the United States government sanction torture in the wake of 9/11? This true story of a government at odds with its moral compass uses Sands' book "Torture Team" as a basis. The reading also uses video clips from Judgment at Nuremberg, "24," presidential addresses and interviews, contemporary journalism, and material from Murat Kurnaz's Five Years of My Life: An Innocent Man in Guantanamo, a memoir chronicling his unjust imprisonment at the hands of U.S. authorities.
