The Bijou Performing Arts Center, thebijoutheatre.com, welcomes Maggie Pangrazio as Artistic Director. Pangrazio, who has an extensive theatrical background, has recently been involved in productions with The Bijou Theatre, Darien Arts Center, New Canaan Powerhouse Players, Westport Community Theatre, Curtain Call, Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Brien McMahon High School, and Bridgeport Theatre Company. She recently directed "Dial M for Murder" at The Bijou Theatre and a production of "Dracula" for Bridgeport Theatre Company. She acts as Director of the Kids' Theatre Program at Darien Arts Center, where she teaches theatre to students, ages 3 to 18.

Pangrazio has a Bachelors Degree in Music Theatre Performance and Communications from American University, where she graduated Cum Laude with University Honors. Raised in Fairfield, CT, Pangrazio was largely involved in her high school theatre, Fairfield Follies, and the Downtown Cabaret Theatre. Pangrazio is a certified makeup artist in theatrical and special effects makeup, and teaches courses on makeup application through the Bijou Performing Arts Center and Darien Arts Center. She is also a professional singer and vocal coach.

"There are so many fun and creative events coming to The Bijou Theatre this season; it's a very exciting time for Downtown Bridgeport," says Pangrazio. She looks forward, in particular, to the upcoming Kids' Theatre production of "A Bunny's Tale: The Mishaps of Miss Hops," and the Spring Concert, "Music in the Movies," both directed by Anthony Meath. The Spring Concert at 8pm on April 4th and 5th will feature songs from your favorite movies with visual accompaniment. "It's a wonderful opportunity to work in an environment that offers such a great variety of entertainment for the whole family," Pangrazio said. "I'm looking forward to being a part of the expansion of events at the Bijou!"

Pangrazio is directing the upcoming production of "Godspell" at The Bijou Theatre, running April 11-19. Inspired by the recent formation of The Bijou Performing Arts Center and the new iteration of The Bijou Theatre as a center for live theatrical performance, this production of "Godspell" celebrates well-known parables and songs as a metaphor for the strength of theatre and collaboration. Through the lessons of the Gospel and the songs of love in their musical incarnation, "Godspell" teaches us that peace and community are universal. Performances are April 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 8PM, and April 12 and 13 at 5PM. Tickets are $20 for Theatre/Table Seating and $25 for Hi-Top Table Seating, and can be purchased online at thebijoutheatre.com or at the box office, 203.332.3228. Please contact the box office for information on group rates. Doors open one hour before each performance. Please come early to enjoy a cocktail, concession, Two Boots pizza, salad, coffee or dessert.
