TriArts Sharon Playhouse (Sharon, CT) presents Whiskey Songs: A Night with Joe Iconis and Family for two shows only on Saturday, July 30 at 5pm and 8pm. The performance is part of the 2011 New Works Series at TriArts. Artistic Director John Simpkins oversees the summer series and directs Whiskey Songs.

The evening will feature Joe and his merry band of musical theater hooligans performing classic Iconis tunes, as well as a couple brand new songs. Stories of loners and losers, tales of suburbia and beyond, explosions of fear and exultation. A high energy celebration of theater, family, and, well, whiskey. Singalongs will abound, drinks will flow, hearts will burst.

The cast features Lance Rubin (Things to Ruin), Badia Farha (We the People: America Rocks!), Molly Hager (Fat Camp), Jordan Stanley and Jared Weiss. Jordan Stanley and Jared Weiss are currently starring as Mark and Roger in TriArts' production of Rent.

Joe Iconis is a writer and concert performer. He is a two-time Drama Desk nominee and the recipient of an Ed Kleban Award, a Jonathan Larson Award and a MAC John Wallowitch Songwriting Award. He is the author of Bloodsong of Love: The Rock ‘n' Roll Spaghetti Western, The Black Suits (book co-written with Robert Maddock), The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks, and We The People. His concert act, The Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree frequently plays The Laurie Beechman Theater and Joe's Pub and the debut album will be out soon. The Original Cast Recording of Things To Ruin, Joe's theatrical rock concert, is available on Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records.

Whiskey Songs tickets are available online at www.triarts.net or by calling the box office at (860) 364-7469. Admission is $30.
