DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME CLUB Improv Performance at Barnes & Noble to Benefit Playhouse on Park

Members of the cast of Don't You Forget About Me Club: An Improvised 80's Teen Movie will perform scenes from their upcoming show at Barnes & Noble, in the Shoppes at Farmington Valley, 110 Albany Turnpike, Canton, CT on Saturday, May 21 from 2pm - 3:30pm. Come on over, do some shopping and get a sneak peak of the Playhouse's next improv event! A proceed of the purchases at any Barnes & Noble on the day of the event will also be donated to Playhouse on Park.

Presented by Hot Cocco Productions and Playhouse on Park, Don't You Forget About Me brings the genre to life as improvisers take audience suggestions to inspire the recreation of an 80s teen movie such as "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" or "Pretty in Pink," which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. "It's rare to see this kind of improv in Connecticut," show director and producer Claire Zick said. "The actors will create a full-length 80s movie on stage, all made up on the spot from the audience's suggestions." Each show offers a unique experience for audience members as performers use their suggestions to create a new story in the style of an 80s John Hughes classic.

Barnes & Noble shoppers can also provide a voucher ID number which will benefit Playhouse on Park. Upon checking out, provide the cashier with the Playhouse's voucher ID number (#11858024) and Barnes & Noble will donate between 10% - 20% of your total purchase to Playhouse on Park. An Improvised 80s Teen Movie will take the stage Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m. at Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Road, West Hartford. Tickets are $10-$15 and can be purchased at www.playhouseonpark.org or by calling 860-523-5900 x10.
