Artful Living, the Community Theater organization that has delighted audiences for over 10 years with summer musicals including The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Shrek, is proud to announce the expansion of their 2016 season with a fall production of Ken Ludwig's hilarious farce Lend Me a Tenor.

Set in September 1934 in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, where The Cleveland Grand Opera Company is primed to welcome Tito Merelli, the greatest tenor of his generation to appear for one night only as Otello.

The star arrives late, and through a hilarious series of mishaps, is mistaken for dead. Identities are mistaken and mayhem ensues as this madcap, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

Lend Me a Tenor was a sensation on Broadway and in London's West End and received 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards.

Director Pat Souney so aptly describes the play as "The 'Bye, Bye Birdie' of the opera world. Tito Merelli makes his fans swoon much like Conrad Birdie. This cast of characters will do anything to get close to him." The cast features an 8 person ensemble of top-notch comedic talent from throughout the shoreline and greater community. Michael Cartwright from Guilford plays Tito Merelli, Nancy Cardone of Deep River plays Tito's wife, Maria. Max is played by Steve Sabol of West Hartford and his love interest, Maggie, is played by Vanessa Vradenburgh from Madison. Several additional towns are represented in this dynamic cast and crew including

Old Saybrook, Killingworth, and Clinton. Lend Me a Tenor performs October 27, 28, and 29th at 7:30pm and October 30th at 2pm at Andrews Memorial Town Hall Auditorium, located at 54 E. Main Street Clinton, Conn.

The show is for mature audiences and not recommended for children under 12 years of age, but is the perfect night out for lovers of comedy, lovers of the opera, and lovers in general...

Advanced tickets are only $20 and can be ordered online at artfullivingct.com. General admission tickets are available at the door the day of performance for $25.00
