NOTE: Though the program is located in Connecticut, applications are accepted from around the country and internationally.

Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford (SA@S), an interdisciplinary theater training program for college students, will return to Stratford, Connecticut for a third season this summer. The program is currently accepting applications from current students and recent graduates to join the 2016 ensemble. The deadline to apply is April 1.

SA@S brings together a small, eclectic, passionate ensemble of college-aged artists from around the U.S. and internationally for six weeks to train, study and perform in two Shakespeare productions in rotating repertory. The rigorous, collaborative six-week program includes daily classes and rehearsals, as well as masterclasses with visiting professionals and academics from institutions around the country. In 2016, the ensemble will perform in Love's Labour's Lost and Richard III.

As a project of The Mighty Quinn Foundation, SA@S honors the passion for learning and love of theater of Quinn Rooney, a Stratford resident who passed away from a rare form of brain cancer in 2012 at age 19. It was Quinn's wish to see Shakespeare study and performance revived in his hometown.

The Foundation will award two full scholarships, known as the Quinn Rooney Shakespeare Scholarships, to students attending the program this year.
