Opera Columbus, BalletMet and Columbus Symphony to Present TWISTED at the Ohio Theatre, 9/25-28
In an unprecedented collaboration, more than 200 artists from BalletMet, the Columbus Symphony, and Opera Columbus will join forces to open the 2014-15 season with what will undoubtedly be the arts event of the season, Twisted. A brilliant fusion of singers, dancers, and musicians will come together to perform dance premieres from four of today's hottest choreographers set to a feast of classical music from beloved operas including La Bohéme, The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Carmen, and more.
Twisted will be presented at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Thursday, September 25, at 7:30 pm; Friday, September 26, at 8 pm; Saturday, September 27, at 8 pm; and Sunday, September 28, at 1 pm. Each of these locally revered and internationally recognized arts organizations brings its own distinct specializations and together create an extraordinary smörgåsbord of talent.

BalletMet Columbus, renowned for its versatility and innovative repertory, ranks among the nation's largest dance companies. Its Dance Academy ranks among the top five largest dance-training centers affiliated with a professional company in the country, offering over 300 classes each week to students ages 3 to 84.
Since its inception in 1978, BalletMet has made the commission and performance of new works a core organizational priority, with more than 150 BalletMet Premieres and hundreds of Columbus Premieres performed throughout our history. It has also developed DanceReach, a series of educational and outreach programs that serve nearly 30,000 people annually. The DanceReach program also offers up to 60 scholarships each year to talented youth, many from minority and underserved groups, who could not otherwise participate.
