Now Playing Onstage in Columbus - Week of 3/23/2014 THE FOUR BITCHIN' BABES IN MID LIFE VICES
Southern Theatre - CAPA
3/26-3/26/2014
The Four Bitchin' Babes are an original "Babes Brand" of musical theater with a 20+ year career on-stage and in-studio, releasing multiple recordings and a full length DVD. These four, multi-talented gal pals-Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith, Deirdre Flint, and Marcy Marxer, each a brilliant writer-musician-comedianne in their own right-fill the stage with luxurious harmonies and sophisticated (never blue) stand-up comedy, creating an amazing evening of raucous delight. In Mid Life Vices, the girls use their wacky musical viewfinder to hysterically journal the lives of the Baby Boomer generation, honoring the quirks and habits of men and women who (like the Babes) refuse to act their age!

Also on the program is Maurice Ravel's famous "Bolero" in a dance setting by Cincinnati Ballet's Artistic Director and CEO, Victoria Morgan. Now Playing Onstage in Columbus - Week of 3/23/2014 WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT
Available Light Theatre
3/27-4/12/2014
In a play that reads like a grim parody of AVLT's best works, an ensemble of American actors come together to make a play about the little-known, first genocide of the 20th century. Ever wonder what it would be like to be in the rehearsal room when actors are digging ferociously into their psyches to discover a moment of revelation, or arguing heatedly over a character's motivation? Jackie Sibblies Drury's inventive play wedges the audience between the actors and their art. As comedy turns to sudden tragedy, the characters confront the ways we communicate about race across ethnic boundaries in the 21st century.
