The Big Band Bogota is a project that was born in 2010 with the aim of encouraging the bogotan Jazz movement and open new spaces for this musical genre in Colombia.
It's been 20 consecutive years in which Jazz Park has meticulous year after year by summoning the best of jazz in the world. Local, national and international musicians gathered to offer to the public a large download of music and improvisation.
As part of this process the Big Band Bogota draft was born in the year 2010 with the aim of stimulating the creative, interpretative processes and consolidation of the sector.
This new edition with 25 musicians on stage, 5 guest soloists, 5 compositions of renowned Colombian talent and the participation of an international guest composer, make up the Big Band Bogota 2015, which, in this version will be protagonist of the special celebration of anniversary of the festival, playing a selection of works that marked imprint on previous versions and the participation of soloists that have done an important job of positioning of Colombian music at national and international level.
The Big Band Bogota in its projection of become an emblematic art project the city and Latin America, building bridges through music, strengthening the process of cultural integration of the continent. Additionally, the composed repertoire presents sound trends that link African, European, Latin American sounds and experimental sounds that build rich sound experiences.
