The Huron Playhouse's 2017 season will open its 69th season with the classic Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical The Fantasticks. This production will replace the previously announced A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Playhouse sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this schedule change may have created for our patrons. However we are delighted for the opportunity to bring our audience the world's longest running musical which continues to play Off-Broadway enchanting generations of theatregoers for over 50 years.

Whimsical, poignant, and romantic, The Fantasticks invites the audience to use their imagination in an inventive fashion, as our enigmatic narrator - El Gallo - introduces us to a world of moonlight and a pair of young lovers journeying through adolescent thrills, the growing pains of hurt and betrayal, the highs of passion, the challenges of distance, and the agonies of heartbreak to discover how to truly love. The famous score, which includes the classics "Try To Remember," "They Were You," and "Soon It's Gonna Rain," is as timeless as the story itself in what many consider to be the world's most beloved musical.
