Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory Presents URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, 8/10-19

Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory (FPAC), the theatre arm of Fairmount Center for the Arts, is pleased to present Greg Kotis' musical, URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, at the Mayfield Civic Center August 10-19.

URINETOWN is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Set in a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom. The story has an outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit, and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

The much loved musical features a cast of local actors, with Adam Hass-Hill as Bobby Strong; Leah Saltzer as Hope Cladwell, Jerry Shepherd as Officer Lockstock; Joelle Rosenthal as Little Sally; Austin Riley as Caldwell B. Cladwell; Christina Ciofani as Penelope Pennywise; Charles Miller as Joseph "Old Man" Strong/ Hot Blades Harry; Jessica Hirsh as Little Beck Two Shoes; Neil Kelly as Officer Barrell; Brendan Hall as Senator Fipp; Gray Flint Vrettos as Mr. McQueen; Maddie Small as Soupy Sue; Adam Gurary as Tiny Tom; Anna Sheridan as Robbi the Stockfish; Jeremy Klein as Billy Boy Bill; EmiLy Wirthwein as Mrs. Millennium; Ethan Nario-Redmond as Dr. Billeaux, Jennifer Cull, Emily Gilbert, Kelly Rienerth, and Margo Tillstrom as Cladwell's Secretaries; and Emily Delis, Andrea Friedberg, Jenna Freireich, Lily Gould, Ona Martini, Amanda Merritt, and Morgan Trau as the ensemble.

Director for the show is Bob Russell, John Krol is the music director, and Bebe Weinberg Katz is the choreographer.

Ticket prices are $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors and $11.00 for students. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinees start at 2:00.
