Ensemble Theatre Presents MIRACLE & WONDER, Now thru 12/2
Following the critically acclaimed "The Normal Heart" which opened its 33rd season, Ensemble Theatre presents MIRACLE & WONDER, a play by local Cleveland Heights playwright, Jonathan Wilhelm. The production will be directed by Ian Hinz with assistant director Layla Schwartz.
WHO IS ZIV AUERBACH? It’s three days before Christmas. While wrapping gifts, an obsessive-compulsive kindergarten teacher receives jarring news from a stranger setting off a series of events involving missing relatives, a drunken drag queen, broken hearts, Bette Davis movies, mistaken identities, Midrashic parables and why Jesus is having a really bad day. In short, everything you might expect in a heart-warming holiday story! A holiday COMEDY not to be missed!
MIRACLE & WONDER is the first full-length main stage production to come out of the Ensemble Stage-Wrights Workshop, a weekly workshop held at the theatre (Wednesdays from 7-9pm) which provides local playwrights a supportive script-based development process.
MIRACLE & WONDER received a staged reading at Ensemble in December of last year.
Jonathan's "A Cardboard Venus" also received a staged reading during last years inaugural
