Cesear's Forum will present Samuel Beckett's ALL THAT FALL at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland, Ohio, in a limited September/October engagement. Mr. Beckett, an Irish "minimalist" playwright, novelist, poet and winner of the 1969 Nobel Prize in Literature, wrote in both French and English. His style and themes have many labels; modernist, avant-garde, existential, metaphorical; evolving as part of the Theatre of the Absurd movement. Works include: WAITING FOR GODOT, ENDGAME, KRAPP'S LAST TAPE and Happy Days. His influence on Contemporary Theatre has not abated, stylistically notable in the works of Edward Albee, Harold Pinter and others.

ALL THAT FALL was written as a one-act radio play for the BBC in 1956. Beckett preferred the aural quality of this piece coming to the mind's eye, and the play has received limited staging. A tragicomedy, the cadence and minimalist staging challenge is in presenting the psychological and physical journey of an elderly Irish woman, Maddy Rooney, within a radio studio environment, but then forgetting that as her perceptions unfold.

Samuel Beckett's ALL THAT FALL, Fri. & Sat. at 8 pm, Sept. 10th thru Oct. 16th, Sunday Matinée, Sept. 26th at 3 pm. All seats $15. Performances at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, 1501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. Call 216-241-6000 or www.playhousesquare.org.
