13th Annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party Set for 9/7
The PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation (PDDC) presents its 13th Annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party & Tour on Friday, September 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The end of summer party celebration on Star Plaza, located at Euclid Avenue and E. 14th Street, features live entertainment by the PopTarts and The Fads, signature food offerings from PlayhouseSquare restaurants, cash bar, walking tours of the neighborhood by the Take a Hike guides, Dance Showcase in the Palace Theatre, and The PlayhouseSquare Cornhole Championship Game. Open house tours of the Greater Cleveland Partnership/COSE office space and the new Cleveland State University Art Gallery are also included.
The restaurants and food purveyors participating are Bricco, Encore at PlayhouseSquare, Alex Bistro and Bar, Corks, Otto Moser’s, Cowell & Hubbard, A Taste of Excellence, Johnsonville Sausages and Shearer’s.
“Our 13th annual block party provides a backdrop to observe how far The PlayhouseSquare District has come in developing an area for working, living and playing. Besides, the party is a blast and emphasizes the play portion,” remarked Jack Herrick, chairman of The PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation.
“The PlayhouseSquare Block Party has developed into a true neighborhood event supported by our area restaurants and businesses plus, it’s a great way for people to get to know each other, network and simply enjoy the area they work in every day,” stated Tom Einhouse, executive vice president of PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation. Einhouse further stated, “Businesses looking for a downtown area to relocate look for a thriving neighborhood location and PlayhouseSquare provides that with entertainment, quality dining options, adequate parking, cleanliness and safety.”
