Director / Producer - The Kingfisher Theater, Inc.

The Kingfisher Theater is looking to hire a co-producer/director (or combo of two people) to help mount a production of our original work, The Devil, the Witch, and the Blacksmith by Amy Canfield and Kevin Dedes, based on the short story by Nikolai Gogol.



We are currently in talks with a space in (Manhattan) New York and would like to produce a run for the month of January 2018.



The show itself is a satirical farce about a small Ukrainian village on (Ukrainian) Christmas Eve. The style is presentational, and the creative team will have to be familiar with elements of commedia and clown. There is considerable room for artistic flexibility in this ensemble piece.



The script is still somewhat in development, but has been produced twice in Rochester, NY to positive feedback. This would be the first annual production in New York (to coincide with an annual 'parallel' Rochester production).



The ideal candidate will have New York production, direction, and development experience, and understand absurdist, commedia, and clown styles of theater.



Details of this project will be worked out with interested candidates and profit sharing is a primary goal.
