Showboat Majestic Holds Auditions for THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE 5/17-18

The Showboat Majestic (435 East Mehring Way, Cincinnati, OH) will hold auditions for their season closer, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, on Monday May, 17 and Tuesday, May 18 from 7-9 pm.

Taking place in New York City in 1922, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It's a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE includes a full score songs and dance numbers.The cast is a large ensemble cast with many featured roles. Dancers will be showcased as well.

Roles include Millie Dillmount, Mr. Trevor Graydon, Jimmy Smith, Muzzy Van Hossmere, Ruth, George Gershwin, Gloria, Dorothy Parker, Rita, Rodney, Alice, Pearl Lady, Cora, Policeman, Lucille, New Modern, Ethel Peas, Mama, Mrs. Meers, Kenneth, Miss Dorothy Brown, Daphne, Ching Ho, Dexter, Bun Foo, Mathilde, Miss Flannery. The ensemble includes Speed Tapists, Muzzy's Boys, and Dishwashers. All roles are available!

Must be 17 years of age or older to audition. MUST PROVIDE A PERFORMANCE RESUME at auditions, listing theatrical experience. Please prepare a period song that best represents your voice and range.  You will be asked to read from the script and some will be asked to learn a dance combination as well.  Please dress appropriately.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, August 8, 2010. Performance dates are September 8 – 26, 2010.  All roles are paid positions.
