Showbiz Players opens Frank Wildhorn's musical "THE CIVIL WAR" on April 28th at the Carnegie Theatre, 1028 Scott Blvd., Covington, Ky. 41011. Inspired by the award winning Ken Burns PBS Documentary series, "THE CIVIL WAR" is based on letters written by soldiers, speeches by Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and poetry by Walt Whitman, Sojourner Truth and Maya Angelou.

This production debuts a song from Frank Wildhorn that will be included as part of THE CIVIL WAR for the first time. Showbiz Players' previous iterations of THE CIVIL WAR have received National, State and Local acclaim including an engagement at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center for Tall Stacks in 2006.

Showbiz Players organization is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a new revival of this production. After 30 years, Showbiz Players have announced that this will be their final production. THE CIVIL WAR runs through May 6th. Information regarding the show can be found on the Showbiz website - www.showbizplayers.com or on the Showbiz Facebook page.
