Know Theatre of Cincinnati is pleased to (finally) announce its third production in the season. Aliens with Extraordinary Skills by Saviana Stanescu will open January 29 and play through February 26, 2011 and will be directed by Know Theatre's producing artistic director, Eric Vosmeier.

Aliens tells the story of Nadia and Borat, who come to the US from Moldova on what they believe to be legal visas, only to discover the circus they were meant to work for does not exist. The pair are clowns, or "aliens with extraordinary skills" who quickly discover that the American dream might not be within their reach. Nadia hopes to gain a work visa using her clowning skills while Borat drives a taxi cab. As Nadia struggles to find her place she is pursued by two intimidating INS agents who berate her every step of the way. Nadia finds her life quickly intertwined with her aspiring Dominican actress/landlord, Lupita and washed up musician, Bob.

"Saviana Stanescu's writing is what drew me to this show," says Eric Vosmeier. "Her manner of storytelling has an interesting and unique voice. She manages to find lighthearted comedy in the struggle of trying to survive everyday life as an illegal immigrant in a big city. She incorporated her own struggles into the writing and that personal understanding is evident.  Another aspect of the show that caught my attention is the clowning. Jason Ballweber, who recently directed A Wrinkle In Time will be working with the actors this month to prepare for the show."

Aliens with Extraordinary Skills received its world premiere with Women's Project at the Julia Miles Theater, Off-Broadway in New York, September - October of 2008.
