Cincinnati Music Theatre Presents YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, Now thru 11/15

Downtown's community theatre, Cincinnati Music Theatre (CMT), invites you to join them as they proudly present Charlie Harper as YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN in the monstrous, musical version of the classic film by Mel Brooks, running tonight, November 7-15, 2014 at the Aronoff Center's intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater (see full performance schedule below).

The reluctant heir to the Frankenstein legacy, played by Charlie Harper, makes a bumbling transformation into the mad doctor with the help of all of the characters from the hit film. Mr. Harper is making his debut on the Aronoff Center stage after having previously performed at Carnegie Hall, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Olympiahalle Munich, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Cincinnati Opera Company, the Cincinnati Pops, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

Joining Mr. Harper in bringing this (abnormal?) tale to life will be Cincinnati's very own Chuck Ingram as The Monster. The iconic roles of Igor, the eager servant and friend with a hunchback, and Frau Blucher, the stern housekeeper of the Frankenstein estate, will be played by Jeff Richardson and Samantha Toberman. Frankenstein's sexy, German lab assistant, Inga, will be played by Allison Evans and his boisterous fiancée, Elizabeth, will be played by Kate Mock Elliott. Rounding out the cast is Bill Geraghty as Inspector Hans Kemp, the head of police with a wooden arm and leg, and Cody Hendershot as the Blind Hermit.

The rest of Transylvania will be played by Natasha Boeckmann, Karl Bolinger, RJ Caldwell, Mary Pat Carletti, Amy Grace Curtis, Amanda Emmons, Blake Gehring, Connor Keef, PJ Karpew, Rick Kramer, Andrew Kutcher, Dan Phares, Julie Shelton, Karen Sowards, Regina Stack, Erin Wallace, Monica Weber, and Chris Weidner.

This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to create a monster - but not without scary and hilarious complications. After he inherits a castle and laboratory in Transylvania from his grandfather, he faces a delimma. Does he continue to run from his family's tortured past or does he stay in Transylvania to carry on his grandfather's mad experiments reanimating the dead with the help of a hunchback side-kick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga?

As a special engagement, Cincinnati Music Theatre is hosting an audience participation night (a la Rocky Horror) on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:30pm. Audience members are encouraged to sing, dance in their seats, shout iconic lines, and dress up as their favorite YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN character!

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is being produced by Eric Bardes, by special arrangement with Music Theatre International, and directed and choreographed by Jerry Wiesenhahn. It features a set designed by Rick Kramer, vocal direction by Xan Jeffrey, and musical direction by Charles Wilhelm.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN features a book by three-time Tony Award-winner Mel Brooks and three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan, and music and lyrics by Brooks.
