Cincinnati Landmark Productions will hold Auditions for Two, Covedale Center Productions: White Christmas And Steel Magnolias Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13, 2011, @ 6:30 - 9:00 pm

All auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.

For White Christmas:

Requirements for Adults: Adults (17 + years of age): MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition. A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required. Auditionees should prepare a song excerpt (16-32 bars) that best represents his/her voice and bring sheet music for the accompanist in the proper key. No a cappella or recorded music auditions please. Auditionees will read from the script and may be asked to do a dance audition as well.

White Christmas
Based upon the Paramount Pictures Film. Written for the screen by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama and Melvin Frank. Music and Lyrics by Irving Berlin; Book by David Ives and Paul Blake
This heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, Happy, Snow and the perennial favorite, White Christmas!

Characters include:
Bob Wallace - late 20's to mid 30's, a superb singer with a crooning style who moves well.
Phil Davis - late 20's to mid 30's, strong jazz and tap-dancing needed - a song-and-dance comic performer.
Betty Haynes - mid to late 20's, a female singer of quiet beauty and charm who must move well.
Judy Haynes - early 20's, strong jazz and tap-dancing needed - a major song-and-dance performer.
General Henry Waverly - late 50's to mid 60's, with the exception of one line, a non-singing role.
Martha Watson - late 40's to mid 60's, a winning, appealing character-comedienne
Susan Waverly - General Waverly's Granddaughter. Must have an excellent belt voice and be able to move well.

There are many other speaking and singing roles available and in addition to large singing and dancing ensemble.

All roles are paid positions. No roles have been precast.

For Steel Magnolias

Welcome to Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoo and free advIce To the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, an eccentric millionaire; Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a "good ole boy." Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few revealing verbal collisions, the play invokes knowing laughter and certain tears when the spunky Shelby risks her life for a child of her own. Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie - 25. Prettiest girl in town.
M'Lynn Eatenton - 50ish. Shelby's mother. Socially prominent career woman.
Ouiser ("Weezer") Boudreaux - 66ish. Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable.
