Have you ever wanted to just "chuck it" and escape from work... or home... and just cut loose? Experience the fun of ditching your duties for a day of excitement, hilarity, close calls, near misses and finally, a happy ending. Join Beechmont Players, Cincinnati's premiere eastside community theatre group, for their spring production On the Razzle by the brilliant and multi-talented Tom Stoppard. This recent hit in London is a free adaptation of the popular 19th century farce which ultimately became Hello, Dolly, one of Broadway's most beloved and long-running shows. The story is basically one long chase, chiefly after two naughty grocer's assistants who, when their master goes off on a binge with a new mistress, escape to Vienna on a spree.

The brilliant Tom Stoppard, multi-award winning author of such memorable stage plays as the Tony Award winning Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and the 2007 Tony Award winning Coast of Utopia and of movies including the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love, dazzles audiences with a non-stop cascade of verbal hilarity while leaving them breathless with laughter over the absurd high jinks and uproarious misadventures of the characters.

Critics rave about Stoppard's On The Razzle:

"While preserving the beautiful intricacies of this construction, Stoppard has embellished Razzle with a dazzle of verbal wit an unremitting firework display of puns, crossword puzzle tricks and sly sexual innuendos." London Daily Telegraph

"Apart from Jumpers and The Importance of Being Earnest there may be no script in English funnier than On the Razzle." London Observer
"Anyone who has read or seen work by Stoppard knows that he has mastered the English language in a way that few playwrights can boast of... In On The Razzle, the jokes come one after another, with few breaks in between... the jokes hit the perfect pitch, inducing hearty laughs and ensuring a good time for all." Aaron Morrissey, DCist

Award-winning director jef brown has assembled a fantastic cast of talented performers fron throughout the Tri-state to bring Stoppard's brilliant wordplay and hilarious comedy to the Beechmont stage including Beechmont veterans Vernon Burns, Collette Thomas, Steve Phelan, Mary Anne Fagel, Saverio Perugini, Rebecca Krausser, Joodi Archer, Larry Behymer, Amber Lutes, Michael Fruhwirth, Geoff Amann, Steve Krieger and Bryce Willson, and newcomers Mark Metzner, Darcy Little, Merritt Beischel, Samantha Limner, Aaron Maas, Dan Maloney and Tracy A. Smith. On the Razzle is produced by Pam Kaesemeyer, with assistant direction by Laura Boggs and assistant production by Tom Bergquist.
