Victory Gardens Theater announces Backstage at the Biograph: Reimagining the Clintons. This behind-the-scenes event focuses on the world premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew, running April 1 - May 1, 2016. Backstage at the Biograph: Reimagining the Clintons examines how iconic figures are reimagined in a fictional world and what it takes to build that new reality for audiences. Backstage at the Biograph: Reimagining the Clintons is Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

"If space is infinite, then all possibilities exist." Lucas Hnath's Hillary and Clinton is one of several existing plays of Hnath's featuring iconic figures such as Walt Disney, Anna Nicole Smith and Isaac Newton. How do we reimagine an iconic figure and recreate them through a new lens? Get a first-hand look at what it takes to reimagine Hillary and Bill Clinton at this open rehearsal kick-off party with artistic director Chay Yew, actress Cheryl Lynn Bruce (Hillary) and actor John Apicella (Bill). Then, enjoy a complimentary reception and mingle with the cast and creative team to get the inside scoop on the process.

This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited and an RSVP is required. For more information visit victorygardens.org/backstage.

About Hillary and Clinton

Imagine that in an alternate universe, very much like our own, is another world where a woman named Hillary is trying to become president of a country called the United States of America. In a hotel room in New Hampshire in 2008, Hillary is poised to lose her last Primary Election. When her husband Bill arrives in the middle of the night to offer support, he turns the campaign upside down. Fresh from the IGNITION Festival of New Plays, Lucas Hnath's Hillary and Clinton is a fast-paced, no-holds-barred glimpse into a political storm of another world. Chay Yew directs Hnath's 2008 Primary Election fantasy, exploring the extraordinary sacrifices one is willing to make in order to gain ultimate power.

Hillary and Clinton will feature John Apicella (Bill), Cheryl Lynn Bruce (Hillary) Keith Kupferer (Mark) and Juan Francisco Villa (The Other Guy).
