The Revival (Hyde Park) Announces December Programming

The Revival, a new comedy theater in Hyde Park, announces its lineup of shows and events playing in December 2016. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the same corner where it was invented in 1955! The Hutchins Plan

Longform Improv featuring Ira Goldberg (Argonne National Laboratory) The Hutchins Plan is named for early twentieth century University of Chicago President RoBert Maynard Hutchins. Featuring "Special Guests" from across the College, the performance begins with an extemporaneous monologue which inspires a series of interconnected scenes. Join host Prof. Randal Picker and The Hutchins Plan Ensemble for an evening of classic long-form improvisation. This month featuring Ira Goldberg, Senior Economic Strategist at the Argonne National Laboratory.

The Revival is a new comedy venue in Hyde Park dedicated to reflecting the diversity of Chicago's South Side on stage. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the very spot where it was born on the northeast corner of 55th Street and University Avenue. This 150-seat, cabaret-style theater features a diverse range of programming including sketch comedy, improv, standup, music and more.
