Kick 2014 to the curb and welcome 2015! On Wednesday, December 31, doors open at The Neo-Futurarium at 9:30 p.m. for refreshments (including beer and wine) and hors d'oeuvres. Beginning at 11 p.m. sharp, the New Year's Eve edition of The Neo-Futurist's 30 plays in 60 minutes will end promptly at 12 midnight with a toast to ring in 2015. Admission is $50. Advance tickets are required and available online at www.neofuturists.org.

Please note: there are no performances of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind during their two-week holiday break from December 19-28.

The Neo-Futurists welcome new Managing Director, Kendall Karg

Kendall Karg has accepted the position of Managing Director with The Neo-Futurists, where she will focus new energy into the company's marketing, financial, and development initiatives.

"From my very first experience with Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind to my initial conversations with artistic and board leadership at The Neo-Futurists, I have been overwhelmed by the passion and intelligence of this company," Karg states. "The Neo-Futurists have made a home for dialogue, hilarity, honesty-and some of Chicago's most talented artists. I am proud to join this community of dedicated theatre-makers and honored to build upon 25 years of incredible work as we get started on our next quarter century."

Artistic Director Kurt Chiang adds, "The Neo-Futurists are dedicated in our mission to provide an artistic home for strong theater artists, and serving our Chicago audiences with relevant, vital and fun theater on a weekly basis. In all our conversations with Kendall, she has supported that value with a resounding 'YES.' Being a confident and determined person, Kendall fits right in. The entire Neo-Futurist ecosystem- ensemble, staff, and board- is proud to have her as Managing Director."

Kendall Karg is a non-profit theatre administrator, performing arts producer, and community engagement manager. Originally from Cincinnati, where she completed her BFA in Drama at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music, Kendall spent several years in New York City as a producer with the off-Broadway theatre Culture Project and her own company The Lost Theatre. She relocated to Chicago for graduate school, completing her studies through the dual Arts Leadership Masters program at DePaul University and Chicago Shakespeare Theater. This two-year fellowship began her time as Project Manager for the inaugural Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks 2012 tour and the expansion of the program in 2013, bringing more than 27,000 Chicagoans together in neighborhood parks throughout the city, garnering the Mayor's support and attendance, and helping to launch the City of Chicago's Night Out in the Parks initiative. Most recently, Kendall served as Manager of Development and Community Partnerships at Chicago Children's Theatre, overseeing annual fund growth and corporate and foundation strategy. She has led marketing, development, education, logistics, and outreach initiatives at various companies and through myriad projects, including: international tours of Cora Bissett's Roadkill and The National Theatre of Scotland's Black Watch with Chicago Shakespeare Theater; Women Center Stage Festival and the international tour of Farber Foundry's MoLoRa with Culture Project; a community collaboration of In the Heights with Chicago Shakespeare, Benito Juarez Community Academy and Latinos Progresando; and V-Day and The New York International Fringe Festival productions with The Lost Theatre.
