Now well into its third year at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel, Dennis Watkins' one- man-show, The Magic Parlour: an intimate evening of classic magic, expands its performance offerings from its long-standing Friday nights, to include several summertime Saturday nights as well. With many Fridays selling out well in advance, the addition of 7:30pm and 9:30pm performances on select Saturdays will provide Chicagoland's warm weather tourists more opportunities to witness this one-of-a-kind production.

Special Sunday matinees are also being offered for Mother's Day (May 11 at 1:00pm) and Father's Day (June 15 at 3:00pm).

The Magic Parlour is scheduled to run throughout 2014 at the Palmer House (shows on additional days will be added as the year progresses).

Since moving to the Palmer House on New Year's Eve 2012, Watkins' 80-minute show has entertained guests from all over the world looking for an extra-special night out in Chicago. Additionally, The Magic Parlour has hosted several private groups and corporate events, three New Year's Eve events, a special fundraiser for The House Theatre of Chicago in the Empire Room, and many special occasions including anniversaries, birthdays, family gatherings, and two marriage proposals!

Only 32 seats are available for each performance of this intimate, sophisticated, close-up magic show in one of the hotel's historic private event rooms. Guests gather at Potter's Lounge in the hotel's lower level and are escorted to the performance space, where they will enjoy an evening of mind-blowing magic and mind reading with Chicago's own Dennis Watkins. The audience participates in much of the performance as Dennis wows the room with disappearing decks, swallowed razor blades, unbelievable mentalism, and age-old stories passed down from his grandfather. Third-generation magician Dennis Watkins regularly incorporates new pieces of magic into this long-running production, giving returning audiences brand new feats to puzzle over.

The Magic Parlour ticket always includes wine and beer selections.

The House Theatre of Chicago has partnered with Dennis Watkins to produce many magical theatrical experiences in its 12 year history. Most notably The House's hit show Death & Harry Houdini (with multiple sold-out runs in Chicago and a production at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, FL), The Magic Parlour, and Watkins' original play, The Magnificents (with two Chicago runs).
