Germany's theateraurantaene is proud to present the Chicago premiere of its one-man show, "Teen Spirit." "Teen Spirit" profiles Alex, a secret sex maniac living just below the surface and ready to strike at any moment. Described as "awakening, haunting, and electrifying" by the Rebelde of HAV, Germany, "Teen Spirit" is an evening of in-your-face theater for audiences 18 and up only. All performances are in English. "Teen Spirit" performs two nights only: Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at gorillatango.com/bucktown or by calling 773-598-4549. All performances take place at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 1919 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647.

Alex, the featured player in "Teen Spirit," seems just like everyone else. 25 years old, went to college, majored in business, bombed his exams. Now he's a biology major in his last semester. A loner who lives in his own world, Alex is a compulsive secret sex maniac, whose interests have no particular limit. This neurotic, insatiable moral pretender is living a high-gloss lifestyle devoid of meaning, and his world is quickly shrinking to a single dimension.

Inspired by Goethe's "Werther" and Buechner's "Lenz," theaterquarantaene premiered this merciless piece at the Mojo Theatre in San Francisco and was later invited to the Festival Internacional del Teatro Experimental (FITE) at the Calzona Theatre in Havana, Cuba. In 2013, "Teen Spirit" was broadcast on German national television.
