Starting tomorrow - September 27, 2013 at 10am (CST) - all remaining seats for Sphinx Virtuosi featuring star mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves will be priced at $10, part of a special promotion in honor of the Harris Theater's 10th season. The performance takes place on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

Lauded by the New York Times as "first rate in every way," the Sphinx Virtuosi and Catalyst Quartet are comprised of thetop Laureates of the national Sphinx Competition for young African American and Latino string players. The ensemble will perform a diverse program to include works by Bach, Vivaldi, Britten, and more, along with a special arrangement sung by Ms. Graves.

Coming off an appearance at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Ms. Graves has selected a series of spiritual arrangements for her collaboration with the Sphinx ensemble. This is the only Sphinx performance that will feature Ms. Graves during its fall tour, which includes a stop at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

A perennial favorite in classical and gospel circles, Ms. Graves is widely recognized as one of the world's premier vocal stars. She has been described as "an operatic superstar of the 21st Century" by USA Today, and was named one of the "50 Leaders of Tomorrow" by Ebony Magazine and one of Glamour Magazine's "Women of the Year" in 1997. She has been a frequent guest on radio and television shows, including Sesame Street, The Charlie Rose Show, and Larry King Live. In 1996 she was the subject of an Emmy-award winning profile on CBS's 60 Minutes.

The Sphinx Chamber Orchestra made its Chicago debut at the Harris in 2008 as part of the Theater's Fifth Anniversary Season, and returns with Ms. Graves during season 10.

$10 tickets will be available at the Harris Theater Box Office located in Millennium Park at 205 E. Randolph Dr., by calling 312-334-7777 or online at www.harristheaterchicago.org.
