Northlight Theatre presents the World premiere of Sense & Sensibility

written and directed by Jon Jory, adapted from the Jane Austen novel

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, presents the World premiere of Sense & Sensibility written and directed by Jon Jory, adapted from the novel by Jane Austen. Sense & Sensibility runs March 10-April 17, 2011. The press opening is March 19, 2011.

A lack of family fortune means difficult marriage prospects for the Dashwood sisters- two girls who couldn't be more different. Both are seeking a husband, but find that neither Elinor's common sense nor Marianne's passion offer a key to happiness. Startling secrets and unexpected twists line the path to true love in this tale of flirtation and folly. Don't miss this brand new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen's first novel.

Jon Jory (playwright, director) is known for his adaptations of classic literature such as Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables and The Gift of the Magi. As the Producing Director at Actors Theatre of Louisville, he directed over 125 plays and produced over 1,000 during his 32-year tenure. He conceived the internationally lauded Humana Festival of New American Plays, the SHORTS Festival, and the Brown-Forman Classics-in-Context Festival. He was also the Artistic Founding Director of Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, and he has been inducted in New York's Theatre Hall of Fame.
