Michael Mahler and The Lincoln Squares to Perform U2's THE JOSHUA TREE with Route 66, 6/15

Route 66 Theatre Company will present the first of it's 2014 Concert Series events: Michael Mahler and The Lincoln Squares performing The Joshua Tree by U2 along with special musical theater guest performers. Tickets are currently on sale through the Route 66 Theatre Company website: www.route66theatre.org. The concert will be a one night only special event on Sunday, June 15 at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30PM

The Lincoln Squares are Michael Mahler on guitar and vocals; Alex Goodrich (Old Jews Telling Jokes at Royal George Theatre) on harmonica, banjo, ukulele, acoustic guitar, singing saw and vocals; Derek Hasenstab (Road Show at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre) on bass and vocals; Jim Barclay on drums and Alan Schmuckler composer/lyricist of Days Like Today at Writers Theatre (unavailable due to conflicts) with Matt Deitchman (Road Show at Chicago Shakespeare Theater) on keyboards, guitar and vocals; Greg Hirte on violin and Annabelle Barclay on tambourine. "I met Mike while working on his musical Knute Rockne: All-American back in 2008 and have enjoyed working with him as an actor on stage (in Route 66's High Fidelity) and as a music director (in Paramount Theater's production of The Music Man). This marks our fourth collaboration with The Lincoln Squares having producedTommy and Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band last year. These one night only concert events are not to be missed." says Route 66 Artistic Director Stef Tovar.

The guest artists for The Joshua Tree include some of the top musical theater talent in Chicago includingBethany Thomas (Jeff Award winner for South Pacific at Marriott Theatre), Molly Callinan (Featured Singer of Gary Sinise's LT Dan Band and Mazeppa in Gypsy at Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Lara Filip (Signs of Lifeat Victory Gardens Theater), Liam Quealy (Cats at Marriott Theatre), Tempe Thomas (Candide at Goodman Theatre), Dina DiConstanzo (Boeing Boeing at Drury Lane Theatre), Matt Mueller (Merry Wives of Windsorat Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Andrew Mueller (Mark in Rent at Paramount Theatre), Adam Michaels(Roger in Rent at Paramount Theatre), Laura Savage (Cats at Marriott Theatre), Jake Klinkhammer (Cats at Marriott Theatre), Audrey Billings (Miss Saigon at Paramount Theatre), Dara Cameron (Old Jews Telling Jokes at Royal George Theatre and Hero at Asolo Rep), Emily Rohm (Les Miserables at Drury Lane Theatre and the upcoming Brigadoon at Goodman Theatre) and Route 66 Theatre Company Artistic Director Stef Tovar.
