The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee will announce the nominations for the 2013-2014 Equity season Thursday morning, August 21, 2014 in Chicago. Actress and Chicago native Jane Lynch will preside over the announcement, which will be available for viewing later in the day at www.jeffawards.org, along with a complete list of nominees.

Jane Lynch, internationally renowned TV and movie star, started her acting career in Chicago at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City. She has performed in many Chicago theatre productions, including a long running role at Annoyance Theatre. Ms. Lynch has gone on to great fame. She has won an Emmy Award and is currently nominated for two, has hosted the Emmy Awards, performed on Broadway, and is a playwright and author.

All are invited to the 46th Annual Jeff Awards ceremony honoring excellence in Chicago theatre which will be held on Monday, October 13th, at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.

The Jeff Awards has been honoring outstanding theatre artists annually since it was established in 1968. With up to 55 members representing a wide variety of backgrounds in theatre, the Jeff Awards Committee is committed to celebrating the vitality of Chicago area theatre by recognizing excellence through its recommendations, awards, and honors. The Jeff Awards fosters the artistic growth of area theatres and theatre artists and promotes educational opportunities, audience appreciation, and civic pride in the achievements of the theatre community. Each year The Jeff Awards evaluates over 250 theatrical productions and holds two awards ceremonies annually. Originally chartered to recognize only Equity productions, the Jeff Awards established the Non-Equity Wing in 1973 to celebrate outstanding achievement in non-union theatre.
