Jackie Hoffman's One-Woman Show WHINING IN THE WINDY CITY: HOLIDAY EDITION Plays Mondays through 12/21

From her eight-shows a week commitment as Eudora "Grandmama" Addams in the pre-Broadway run of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Jackie Hoffman will sing a different tune each Monday through to December 21 as she stages her own one-woman cabaret show, 'Whining In The Windy City: Holiday Edition' at the Royal George Cabaret in Chicago.

Speaking with the Chicago-Sun Times, Hoffman explains what can be expected of her rather unconventional holiday special , "Audiences should prepare themselves for something different, fun and cool," she says. "My show is the antithesis of all that other wholesome crap they'll see everywhere else."

The show will be part stand-up comedy, and part original songs which Hoffman has written herself, with personal stories thrown in between.

'Whining In the Windy City: Holiday Edition' plays on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. through Dec. 21, at the The Royal George Cabaret,  located at 1641 N. Halsted, Chicago. Tickets are $25.

Jackie Hoffman is an American actress and stand-up comedian. She is a veteran of Chicago's famed The Second City comedy improv group. Hoffman has starred in the following solo performances, "If You Call This Living," "The Kvetching Continues," "Jackie Hoffman's Hanukkah," "Jackie's Kosher Khristmas" and "Jackie's Valentine's Day Massacre," amongst others. In 2002, Hoffman was cast in the Broadway production of the musical Hairspray playing the roles of Prudy Pingleton, Gym Teacher, Matron and Denizen of Baltimore. She won the 2003 Theatre World Award for her performance in Hairspray. Other stage appearances include a co-starring role as Calliope, muse of epic poetry, in the rock musical Xanadu on Broadway, from July 2007 to September 2008

Preview performances of THE ADDAMS FAMILY pre-Broadway run in Chicago began on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.) and will play through Sunday, January 10, 2010. THE ADDAMS FAMILY will open on Broadway Thursday, April 8, 2010 at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
