Idle Muse Theatre Company, founded in 2005, ends its 2010-2011 Season with DRACULA, opening in February for a five-week run at the Side Project Theatre at: 1439 West Jarvis in Rogers Park, Chicago. DRACULA will be directed by Lenny Wahlberg.

DRACULA, adapted by Stephen Dietz from the classic by Bram Stoker, is a story known to us all--the story of a vampire and those who fight, hate, chase, love, and fear him--but the meaning of the story that has come down to us through the ages has changed with each telling. It's been a dark tale of adventure against impossible odds, a saga of cunning and faith, and even a love story, but those interpretations aren't what we're after--Idle Muse is going to tell the real story of Dracula, the story of desperate, human goodness and perseverance against total, unstoppable evil.

Join us as we meet the Count in his home in the Carpathian mountains, and journey with us across old-time Europe to London, where a one Ms. Wilhelmina Harker must fight for her husband, her life, and her soul against the 400-year-old monster creeping toward her. She has friends on her side; her fiancée, the simple, stalwart Seward, the troubled, tormented and brilliant Dr. Van Helsing, and others--but what they face is more than darkness, it's the cause of darkness itself, and it won't stop until she and everyone she loves are utterly his.

Once the Holidays are over, let Idle Muse tell you the story you thought you knew, and that will remind you how close we are to danger every time the sun goes down.
