The Scooty & JoJo Show and Metro present the comic rock spectacle, Alien Queen: The Concert, on Friday, May 13 at Metro. Tickets are on sale now at the Metro box office and metrochicago.com.

Alien Queen: The Concert combines the legendary music of Queen with an outrageous parody of the "Alien" films to create a top-notch Queen tribute band made up of H.R. Giger-inspired aliens, cross-gendered humans, and some of Chicago's best singers and rock musicians. The event will be a full evening of rock and ridiculousness, with special musical guests Brilliant Pebbles, DJ Reagonomix and circus acts by Mystery Key performing before Alien Queen: The Concert takes the stage. The show is an 18 & over event.

The Scooty & JoJo Show premiered their original musical Alien Queen: A Sci-fi Rock ParOdyssey in December 2010 and January 2011 at Chicago's Circuit Nightclub, garnering incredible critical praise and packed houses. The original show, created and staged by Scott Bradley, is a farcical fusion of the Alien film franchise with the iconic sound of British rock band Queen.

Featuring classic Queen hits as well as deep cuts from the early Queen catalog, Alien Queen's transformation into concert format puts the epic music and absurd pageantry front and center. Acclaimed performer Ryan Lanning returns as the Sigourney Weaver-inspired lead singer Ridley, while Scooty (aka creator Scott Bradley) continues his assault as the Alien Queen. Alien Queen: The Concert will feature new musical arrangements by bandleader Nicholas Davio as well as the ingenious aliens designed by Jabberwocky Marionettes, choreography of Jyl Fehrenkamp, and costuming by Anna Glowacki.

Kicking off the night, Mystery Key performs circus acts. Led by performance artist and clown Colin Creveling (last seen with Scooty & JoJo in BigTop JoJo and his Towering Show of Wonder), Mystery Key's "art of play" features unicycling, glow poi, diabolo, hat tricks, and juggling almost anything that's not nailed down.

While Mystery Key performs throughout the venue, DJ Reagonomix will spin tunes. DJ Reagonomix (aka Ali McDonald) is co-organizer and resident DJ of Formerly Known As (FKA), a monthly queer dance party at Uptown's Big Chicks, now in its fourth year. A popular Chicago-based DJ and promoter for queer-scene events, she started DJ'ing in 2003 as co-host of Think Pink, Chicago's only all-music radio show for the queer community on WLUW 88.7 fm. As an extension of the radio show, Ali and co-host Erik Roldan launched Fruit, a series of popular queer dance parties at the Hideout.

The final special guest before Alien Queen begins is Briliant Pebbles. Brilliant Pebbles is synth pop, new wave, 80's inspired dance music, fronted by (singer/dancer) Monika Bukowska along with Ross Kelly ( dj/producer ) and Sam Ng ( synth/keys) This Chicago trio consists of members from Hong Kong, Poland and USA who's interest in fashion, music and art brought them together. Polish frontwoman Monika Bukowska, is known for her expressive vocal range, passionate performance, funky stage clothes, and spontaneity on stage. Ross Kelly is a DJ and producer from Boston and Sam Ng is a classically trained musician from Hong Kong.

Since their formal debut in 2007, Brilliant Pebbles have played with bands Crystal Castles, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Bobby Conn, Health, Quintron, Dan Deacon, Ssion, Dandi Wind, Borts Minorts, Chow Nasty, Ruins , Marnie Stern, Yip-Yip...and many more. TimeOut Chicago: "Brilliant Pebbles clashes cultures, colors and fashion in a giddy, Gypsy-arcade assault on your senses." Deli Magazine: "You may think you have seen some crazy things in your lifetime, but I can honestly say you haven't seen anything like Monika Bukowska and Brilliant Pebbles.
