Charlotte d'Amboise Joins John O'Hurley on CHICAGO Tour; Opens February 25 in Chicago

Broadway In Chicago and the producers of CHICAGO The Musical are thrilled to announce that Charlotte d'Amboise will star as Roxie Hart in a limited engagement of the hit musical. Starring with Ms. d'Amboise will be John O'Hurley as Billy Flynn. The award-winning show will play Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.) February 25 - March 8, 2009.

Charlotte d'Amboise returns to CHICAGO after receiving a second Tony Award® nomination for her acclaimed performance as Cassie in Broadway's A Chorus Line last season. With CHICAGO, Ms. d'Amboise holds the record for playing Roxie Hart more than any other actress in the history of the revival - more than 2,000 performances and counting. For her portrayal of Roxie in the show's first national tour, she earned the L.A. Drama Critics Circle, L.A. Ovation and Bay Area Theatre Circle Awards. Her other NY credits include Sweet Charity (Charity; Fred Astaire Award), Can-Can (Encores!), Contact, Damn Yankees (Lola; Fred Astaire Award), Jerome Robbins' Broadway (Tony nomination), Company, Carrie, Song and Dance, and Cats. Joining Ms. d'Amboise and John O'Hurley will be Terra C. MacLeod as Velma Kelly, Kevin Chamberlin as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron ‘Mama' Morton. The ensemble includes D. Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking, CHICAGO features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. The production also features orchestrations by Ralph Burns, supervising music direction by Rob Fisher.
